Medium brown shell that tends to lighten with age. Only surpassed in size by the tortoises of Aldabra and Galapagos. From thirty to two hundred pounds. Always tame.
Dark brown to black carapace with red and yellow highlights. Moist substrate with a shallow water bowl and high humidity. Kale, collard greens, mustard greens, dandelions and fruit. From ten to fifty pounds as adults. Growth is dependent upon the amount of food given. Very tame and sociable.
